Goodbye Q 11, Hello GMA News TV 11 and Aksyon TV 41

QTV/Q Channel 11 (November 11, 2005 - February 20, 2011)

GMA's secondary channel QTV/Q Channel 11 finally bid goodbye yesterday, 20th February 2011. I can remember watching a lot of shows on QTV during its 5-year run. QTV was established to air programs aimed towards women. It also became the home of GMA's non-crappy shows. I will always remember QTV as the only free TV station that aired Monster Buster Club and finished airing all episodes and the only free TV station that aired American Idol. Other QTV/Q shows I remember: Balikbayan, H30, Laugh to Laugh, Project 11, Ganda ng Lola Ko, Love Life, Ang Pinaka, Sana'y Muling Makapiling, Sapulso, Misteryo (now on GMA), at Na-Scam Ka Na Ba. GMA News TV plugs are being aired on Channel 11 for 1 week in preparation for the launch of GMA News TV Ch. 11 on February 28, 2011. QTV, Kwento Natin 'To!

GMA News TV will be a news/informational free TV channel from the country's most respected and awarded news department GMA News and Public Affairs. It will replace QTV 11. Its official launch will be on February 28, 2011. 

Some Q Channel 11 shows can still be watched on GMA News TV like Balitanghali, Tweetbiz, Full Time Moms, Sarap at home, and Quickfire

Naga City viewers can catch GMA News TV on free tv Channel 28, Caceres Cable Channel 15, and Sky Cable Channel 19. GMA News TV, Oras Oras, Alam Ko!

Another news/informational channel was launched today, February 21, 2011, TV5 affiliate Aksyon TV  on UHF 41 Mega Manila. As of this writing, Aksyon TV is still unavailable to Naga City viewers on free TV and local cable stations (Sky and Caceres) except to Cignal subscribers. Aksyon TV is available on Chanel 41 Mega Manila, Channel 29 Cebu and Davao, and Channel 30 on Cignal.
